A space designed to feel safe

Last updated: July 2026

Adaena is built for quiet support — private journaling, gentle reflection, and volunteer listening when available. Safety here means clarity, boundaries, and control.

Adaena is quiet support, not crisis care

Adaena can support expression, reflection, and supportive conversations, but it is not emergency or crisis support. It is not therapy, medical care, or a replacement for professional help.

If you are in immediate danger

If you may harm yourself, harm someone else, or are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your area.

Adaena can be a place to write or talk when you need support — but urgent danger needs local emergency help first.

How Adaena looks out for users

  • Surfacing support options when something feels heavy
  • Allowing users to leave, pause, delete, or report conversations
  • Keeping conversations private unless safety action is needed
  • Not including sensitive message content in email notifications

Listener safety standards

Volunteer listeners apply, complete orientation, and agree to boundaries before supporting others.

Listeners are expected to:

  • Listen without judgment
  • Avoid giving professional advice
  • Keep conversations inside Adaena
  • Avoid romantic, sexual, financial, or off-platform relationships
  • Follow safety protocol when something feels serious

Your control

You stay in control of your space:

  • You can stop writing anytime
  • You can leave a conversation
  • You can report a concern
  • You can delete entries where available
  • You can request account deletion

Reporting concerns

If you feel uncomfortable, pressured, unsafe, or believe someone is misusing Adaena, you can report it. Reports help Adaena review what happened and take steps when needed — including pausing access or removing someone from the platform.

Listener wellbeing

Listeners can pause availability when they do not have capacity. Responsible listening includes knowing when to step away. Supporting others should never come at the cost of a listener's own wellbeing.
